The Power Pig/The New Sound of 93.3FM 1989-1994
The New Music Revolution/Today's Best Music 1995-1999
Tampa Bay's/The #1 Hit Music Channel 2000-Present

I put this together in response to a ton of e-mails asking if "this happened before that", "when did so and so start on the air", etc. I also had tons & tons of articles from the local papers & industry magazines about The Power Pig, it's people & it's battle with Q105. When I put it all on paper, it looked cool. So I decided to give a spot to all of those little details that made this the greatest CHR battle.

If there is an exact date listed, it's been checked & verified. A question mark indicates just that, we're not sure.
Blank spots are answers we are looking for. If there's something you think should be included
(believe me, I know it's not complete) or something here ain't right (grammar don't count), PLEASE e-mail me:
Corrections are very welcome here. ThePowerPig@aol.com

Former 93.3FLZ Program Director Domino (Dom Theodore) heads to his hometown Detroit to program....? It looks like the rumors (& planted URL's www.955kissfm.com, and kiss955.com) of WKQI/Detroit dropping Q95.5 to become "95-5 KISS-FM" were all part of a brilliant, massive smokescreen. They now carry a message to cross town competitor, WDRQ. The rumored KISS-FM change, received major coverage in our industry, the business section of the DETROIT FREE PRESS, plus stories on local TV outlets. Everyone was convinced it would be 95-5 KISS-FM. Morning man MOJO signed off at 10a (ET), Program Director (and former 93.3FLZ PD) DOM THEODORE (Domino) ran some KISS sweepers & then debuted the new moniker: "Channel 95-5 , Detroit's Hit Music".

Later down the road, became Oldies 104.7, WRBQ. Oddly enough, the Q105 logo sits next to the Oldies 104.7 logo on the home page of their web site.
