...:::  PIG PICS-1 :::...

Many more pics are already in-house, we're building several galleries as we speak.
But these should get ya started !!
Regarding picture quality:
I realize some of these are not prize winning photos or scans. When faced with the decision of what quality to post, I opted to let you see ALL the pics regardless of quality, rather than not let you see them at all. Also note, the yellow-ish looking pictures are from newspaper articles that may be 15+ years old.
Regarding page load time:
Although we have taken the time to resize pictures for easier page load times, some of the files are still large and
may take extra time to load, especially for dial-up users. There is also a considerable amount of pics on each
page right now until we find a better way to display them.
Where to send your pics:
If you have any pictures you can add, please e-mail them to ThePowerPig@aol.com. If you only have the pictures themselves and no way to scan them into your computer for e-mailing, also e-mail us at ThePowerPig@aol.com
and we'll provide you with a snail mail address you can send them to. If you should happen to want the pictures returned, we can handle that no problem. And lastly, keep in mind, if you see anything related to the Power Pig OR 93.3FLZ while surfing the net, especially pictures, send us a link to where you saw it at to ThePowerPig@aol.com.

- This award speaks for itself -
The Power Pig debuted in Sept. 1989. In LESS THAN 12 MONTHS, they were named Billboard Magazine's "Top 40 Radio Station of The Year".

The front hood had "Power Pig!" sprayed on backwards so that when it pulled up behind others cars and that car looked in a rear view or side mirror, they would see "Power Pig!" correctly, just like most ambulances do today.
The building in the right picture above I believe is the outside of the old WFLZ/WFLA studios on Jackson Street downtown.

In case you can't read the bottom of the back of the van it says "Powered By Pork". And notice on the right picture you'll see speaker like objects on the front and back top of the van. Yup, if the paint color wasn't "loud" enough for ya,
the Power Pig's signal could blast out at ya or sometimes Tim & Tom used it to whistle at hot chicks.

The Power Pig's pink fleet ALWAYS had somewhere to be. ALWAYS. If it wasn't scheduled to be at an appearance or on
Road Patrol or doing "Drive By Shirtings", then the crew would just go park and hang out in a parking lot somewhere to be seen. More often than not though, it was Q105's parking lot(like you see above) that they liked to be seen in the most.
Q105's Grey Street studios and offices were on both floors of the building you see here and frequently had a nice
pink view out their office windows or driving into work.

Now sometimes it got boring just sitting there in the parking lot intimidating the Q, so you had to pass the time.
On the left is Power Pig Promotions Director (and former Q105 employee) Darcel Schouler using the cell phone to make
a few crank calls to the Q's request lines. On the right, a Pig intern(?), wearing a "Screw The Q" t-shirt, interviews Q105 employees as the come and go. Simple questions like "What do you think of The Power Pig?" and "What's it like to work
on a sinking ship like Q105?" spawned angry reactions but there were a few that would dish a little "disgruntled Q employee
inside information". Sometimes the info would be called right into the station's production department from
Q105's parking lot, produced into a promo and on the air within the hour.
Hear some of those promos in the PIG PEN in the "Power Pig mentally mind fucks Q105" section.

Ever wonder why the Q was always playing so many commercials?
Well someone had to pay for all these expensive cars you see above that the Q employees drove. They decided you
wouldn't mind hearing 18-20 minutes of commercials an hour to help them pay off those cars.
To compare, The Power Pig generally averaged 6 minutes during the hours they weren't commercial FREE.
(THANKS TO: Mike Albl for all the van pics above)

Screwing The Q AND being Tampa Bay's #1 rated station was hard work !

      SCREWING THE Q

This was the original "Screw The Q" logo that was printed on t-shirts (like the one modeled here by Jacor COO
Randy Michaels) & sold by the Power Pig on the streets. Today they are big time collectors items. Technically it was all free adverting for Q105 but they decided it was "trademark infringement" & filed a law suit against the Pig.

If you roamed the Gulf Beaches in the summertime, then The Power Pig Road Hogs were a familiar sight. Making it even more memorable for most is Lisa Ritchie (left) hawking "Screw The Q" T's & Flippin the Pig on Sarasota's Siesta Key. Above is Pig jock
Jason Dixon in studio handling his
overnight "Q Screwing" duties.

Nothing like a fun game of Tomatoe Toss To Get Some Power Piggers Fired Up!
Not sure what the object of this game was or the rules, or if there even were any but as you can tell,
the Pig staff was pumped up this day. Looks like a few eggs may have e even may their way into the game.
I believe this was in the parking lot of the old Jackson Street Studios in Downtown Tampa.

Power Pig
fans flippin the pig and screwin the Q.
RIGHT: Pig overnighter Russell The Love Muscle demonstrates his talent of squeezing boobs and

And when Q105 finally gave up and went country, someone made The Power Pig this nice souvenir plaque.
It still hangs todays in the halls of 93.3FLZ.
